I have worn glasses since my teacher, Mr. Bechtal, in the fifth grade asked me to read the board and I promptly told him that his handwriting was too jumbled. A phone call to my parents later about my smart mouth then landed me to having an appointment with the doctor and procuring my first set of glasses I bought in South Korea over summer break (My mother insisted I go regularly since we lived in Okinaway, Japan at the time and were so close). My first pair were oval silver frames (which I still have somewhere back home in storage) which I then graduated to rectangle frameless ones. and then black framed rectangle ones and then these two glasses are my two most recent ones from highschool.
I keep both of them because I have a tendency to misplace one and I am blind as a bat without them, not being able to see after about an armslength apart from my face and I have an apt for taking my contacts out
before I remember I should probably have my glasses with me when I do so.
I hate hate hate wearing glasses in public.
in middle school and highschool before I got contacts I would go around blind unless I was in class and I had to see the board. This got me in trouble with the popular girls many a times because they thought I was a bitch for ignoring them saying hi from across the train platform, when really I just couldn't make out the blurred figures waving at me.
Enough procrastinating on this paper though..I have to write 6 pages about the pro's and con's of treatments for mental illness...except my eyes are so tired from lack of sleep/having contacts in all the time.
